Took an afternoon nap and, during the hypnogogic phase (or possibly hypnopompic? Always get those confused) I hallucinated hearing a woman with a foreign accent saying my name.

So I got THAT going on.

I have five words left on my daily quota.

Not five hundred. Just five.

It's a pain in the ass.

I've been contemplating the idea "I save a woman from some dire fate and she falls in love with me."

Already this is a weary cliché in fiction, but I'm going to suggest we retire it EVEN FROM OUR PRIVATE FANTASIES. And I'll tell you why.

The unspoken assumption of this lazy notion is "I am so unlovable that no one could desire me unless the alternative is DEATH ITSELF."

So maybe imagine that she falls in love with your humor and kindness, or that she's just bent for your particular look.

Dear YouTube, I am not interested in being a swole senior PUA, please stop showing ads of grotesquely jacked old dudes wowing women 1/4 their age. Thanks.

Pitch me your stories with a protagonist named "Rocks Göttenoff." Go!

DON'T OVERTHINK IT, GO GO GO!

Now, to listen to Coldplay.

No, seriously! I'm doing it voluntarily!

"Clocks" is actually a very pretty song if you only hear it once every six months or so!

I was talking with a guy who has no coffee in his house, and no place that sells coffee within walking distance, and his wife has the car, and I totally forgot to rhapsodize about how great Turkish coffee (which is basically the crack cocaine of coffees) is.

Man, getting old and forgetful SUCKS.

The word "genius" gets tossed around a lot, but...

Working on a project for Jerry Grayson, writing about how Yeti, Neanderthals and Atlanteans are all the same thing.

It's OK. It's clearly fiction.

This seems to be an entirely new level of "just can't be bothered." lot2046.com/

Have you read TRANSMIT? t.co/SocKOZACKJ it's a short SF story about first contact. I'm really pleased with how the first and last lines worked out. Available free, like everything from www.gregstolze.com/fiction_library .
