It's nice that they mention the simplifying assumptions and uncertainties of the model, but also what is certain, and why, with examples. Especially great in an article for laypeople.
This kind of stuff seems to slowly catch on, and it gives me hope. Pretending to know everything (or taking uncertain information as gospel) seems to me a huge source of misconceptions, wild accusations and conspiracy theory-level bullshit, as well es online flame wars.

...actually, taking (liberally-interpreted translation of) religious scripture as gospel is probably also a major source of not just online flame wars but actual IRL wars...
The concept of "makes sense, within some tolerance, and probably looks different from another angle" really seems to be hard to get into everyone's head, but it needs to become a thing if we all want to get along.
