SpiderOak dropped it's warrant canary. So i would not recommend that.

Currently i'm using Seafile:

quite easy to setup on a VPS.

@Ono_Sendai @uranther it seems odd that they say a transparency report is the same as a canary.

I thought the whole point was the government could tell you you couldn't announce something but they cannot compell you to not not do something, such as update the canary.

To me, the canary died and if you worry about that sort of thing then time to get out of the mine.

To avoid relying on services with dying canaries i'm switching to self hosted services.
Still got the problem that my VPS provider could be compromised, but at least i'm in control of the services running on it.
