Thinking I’ll switch instances. There are no toots on my timelines due to ‘unexpected errors’ and I can't connect Tusky to it (the other app is still a beta, so…). I’ll post the link here
Mastodon is really missing the ability to hop between instances. Otherwise the local/global distinction is useless when we are stuck on the one instance because we don't want to give up our following.

The deportation itself smells illegal, too, according to Ameer's attorney; the deportation procedure was suspended as he applied for asylum and needs a statement and a letter to the attorney to be legally continued, but there was neither. The asylum application was rejected, too. Ameer Alhwalany was taken to an unknown place this week, maybe in Warsaw; even his attorney hasn't been told anything.
He's said to be going through final stage of deportation now, though Przemyśl District Court said there's no basis to arrest him in the first place - it's said to have found the evidence worthless; all of it is apparently one piece of paper. Ameer was kept in a detention centre in Przemyśl's Foreigners Centre since he was arrested.
There's a man - Ameer Alkhawlany. He was a doctoral student at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. He was in #Poland since 2014. He was arrested by Internal Security Agency on October 3, and here's where it gets tricky. One known thing is that he's a "security threat," but the Agency says evidence is secret and didn't show it to Ameer's attorney. Ameer says it's a revenge for his refusal to inflitrate Muslim immigrants living in Poland.

It's kinda weird to think about a social network where businesses own their own presences, rather than relying on a capricious third party service like Twitter or Facebook. Imagine NBC or The Verge running a Mastodon instance for their reporters to toot from, or Bethesda operating an instance for PR and customer support. No more lost business when Facebook changes their algorithms again because they need more money from boosted posts.
