I have learned not to comment on my friends' bodies. It's rude, and anyway I love my friends for who they are, for their thoughts and feelings and ideas and jokes.
But I can't help but find it strange how they wear the same body every day.

When I find the squirrels have broken off some spinach or chard in the garden (why do they do that?) and they're laying there like floppy old rags, I bring them inside, give 'em a fresh, clean cut of the stem and pop into water.

It's miraculous how well they come back to a crisp, firm leaf ready for eating. Can take less than an hour.

Also doing that for lettuce that gets floppy in the fridge. Just need to think ahead for when I want to make a salad, or cook something.
