@kev Windows Updates. Frustrating because they always happen when they are not supposed to. Annoying because after every major upgrade the want to force you into ab MS Live Account and often they ruin your system.

@bjoerns @kev File processing. Unbearably slow on Windows. Opening and closing a file is extremely resources intensive. Searching a few hundred thousand files for some content might take 15 seconds on Linux while it takes 20 minutes on Windows to do the same things (this is something I suffered from not long ago)

@bjoerns @kev I've so far managed to avoid the MS account thing (if only because I'm on 8.1), but the updates insist on rebooting your computer if you've normally just been putting it to sleep! Also: bloatware that gets started every time you reboot (but not on simple shutdown).
