Jetzt isses wieder so weit...

There is no such thing as an adult. It is literally a myth created so people think that *someone* actually knows what the fuck they're doing

Hey Fediverse!

What NoScript has done is open my eyes to the fact that if a website can't operate without downloading 10 MB of JavaScript first, then I should reconsider my dealings on that website.

Also, sites (and I've run into more than a few) that include scripts from 3+ different ad/tracking systems seem equal parts pathetic and inept.

Which is not to say that future webdev clients of mine wont ask for it anyways... oh those wily, waskilly clients...

Hey kids, don't use a bank account as the pre-approved payment source for PayPal billing agreements, or this will happen when somebody hacks your #Airbnb account.

@purism Thx for this blog post. I would really appreciate it if you put a notice into Librem social that it is a fork of Tusky. Here is our opencollective in case you want to support the Tusky team opencollective.com/tusky

I appreciate what #Purism is trying to do with #LibremOne. I think it's good and even necessary, and I hope it will bring more people to use free software & decentralized services.

However, I'm uncomfortable with the general tone of their campaign. I understand they aren't targeting tech-savvy users like me, but still, no mention of the apps you forked? No link to the source code? Just one lousy sentence about free software buried near the bottom of the page? Come on. @purism

@purism @Purism While I'm all for decentralisation and moving away from malicious corporate entities, I don't really like how it's made to seem as if every service on librem.one is something made by Purism. The technical specifications do say what protocol is being used but not the underlying software and I think that's an underhanded way to go about it.

At least say LibremSocial is Mastodon, LibremTunnel is PIA, LibremMail is any old mail server with tight GPG integration & K-9 Mail from Android, and that LibremFiles and Contacts will, I assume, be Nextcloud.

I really don't like people that come along, take a good open source project, rebrand it, and pass it off as their own. Transparency is a good thing and I don't really see any on the front page of librem.one

If you were operating this as a non-profit, that would one thing. It's an entirely different matter to be making money from free software without giving credit where credit is due.
