It's when Mostly White Mostly Western (TM) people excuse aggregious repression and human rights violations as 'It's their culture and we should respect that'

Low key, the subtext reads the human rights of non-white, non-western people don't actually matter and aren't worth the effort or risk of making a fuss

In other words, #The1975 should've showed up, played their set & cashed their check, like good white boys
