Does anyone else have a thing where you have a favourite metaphor that you like, but you know that very few people will understand it so you can't use it in general conversation?
I sometimes think of difficulties in communication as an 'impedance matching problem', but nobody without a physics or electronic engineering degree is going to know what I am talking about if I use that metaphor. This makes me (a little bit) sad. ☹️

@highfellow my maths teacher once thaught me the phrase "...this is peripherally tangent to me".
Which I guess only a few understand :)
