This is an article I have written, based on my personal experience, about how the way the mental health system is set up as an institution can put service users in a difficult position in one way or another. It is called 'Some Catches of the Mental Health System'. I am talking about things which I suspect most long term service users would recognise but which other people might not realise from the outside are an issue.

In this version I say a bit more about where I am coming from in writing this piece, and also describe another 'catch' service users can get caught in - not being believed by others.
