unhinged tusky fascism rant
like first of all, there's a large swath of people that believe software shouldn't have artificial blocks in them for any reason (myself included), including people in the original pull request objecting to the block. we're not NECESSARILY fascists- useful idiots in the war against fascism at the worst i imagine. but intent matters here- the block being removed isn't necessarily to allow people to use fascist instances, but to use ANY instance.

it's not possible to conclude much about fascist intent from removing a block since there's a lot of different reasons you'd do it for. so in freetusky's case, was it done to specifically allow people to access gab and do fascism?
it's hard to tell because the author seems fairly private and freetusky as a project or in its code or its 13 commits hasn't clarified this. it could go either way.

i really find it hard to go from this little information to deciding that software, its author or its use is specifically to further the goals of fascists.
but on the other hand, tusky isn't exactly a democracy itself. the author added the easter egg and ignored all the community's objections on political and technical levels.

i don't know what the deal is here and it worries me what block will come next. if we can't even handle blocking fascism as a community in a responsible way, anything more complicated is just going to be a headache and shitfest
