Why don't I use Firefox?

Ever tried using it with a dark GTK Theme?

It looks like the screenshot/codepen below. Shittiest. Browser. Ever.

cp /usr/share/applications/firefox.desktop ~/.local/share/applications/firefox.desktop

Change Exec line to
Exec=env GTK_THEME=Adwaita:light /usr/lib/firefox/firefox --new-window %u

@marzzzello While I'm incredibly thankful for this tip...

I think Firefox still is shit for making me use that workaround. OS theming should not influence anything the browser renders.

Also funny how I can now use the Firefox dark theme and it looks just like before minus the shitty parts.

@lerk yes I see it as a bug. I don't know why they don't just fix it...

@marzzzello Probably because "it would break the established workarounds." 🤣

@lerk I don't know there are at least 20 bugs on bugzilla about this...

@marzzzello Funny thing I just found out: when openeing an archive instead of saving it, the archive utility will also use the light design xD

Yes it gets started with the same environment vars 🤷‍♂️
