Was surprised I haven't educated myself on what's explicitly not allowed on Mastodon (other than racism). Here's looking at the uncurated news bots. :spy:

I've been seeing bursts of negativity and chiding, particularly from new folks, with statements that denigrate some of the standards of interaction that have been in place for a while here.

If your first thought in a new space is to mock, harass, ridicule, or incite conflict, you should reevaluate your intentions before you lose the privilege of being here.

This is a positive space. Respect people.

TL;DR: Don't be a dick, or you can show yourself the door.

Oh, what strikes me as well is that you don't see the amount of boosts, favourites or followers of someone. Making this platform less about 'being popular' and more on sharing ideas. Hope they never add this feature. I don't care how many boosts my ideas get, I care about good ideas being spread that's all.

Hey guys guys I just realised that Content Warnings on posts solve sooo many problems that even middle-class white guys have! You don't even have to be an America-hating Communist Art Student to find them useful! Like you can use them for Spoiler Warnings or Poetry Warnings or Post Longer Than 140 Characters Warnings or just Livejournal Nostalgia Warnings and it's all so wonderful

At least we can all say we were here before the Mastodon Moments tab arrived.

this just happened: a little mouse (!) was running in my direction and just got scared by me and fell in the pool (yes we were next to a pool) and it swimmed like a michael phelps' rodent counterpart, getting away from me for a while, till it stopped in a corner and i managed to rescue it from certain death
