Somehow I managed to make it to age 37 without learning how to crimp ethernet cable. I always thought it would be fiddly and failure-prone; in fact it's very straightforward.

One more thing to add to my list of nearly-obsolete skills :)

@anne in uni I had a classmate who had a little side-hustle buying utp cable in bulk and selling cables to fellow students, back when these cost serious money.

Watching him work was a series of 'aww, shucks, I ruined that one. Let me try another.' So maybe the tool I got is a lot better. And interestingly it still works out cheaper compared to retail prices.
