i don't even know how to search the internet right now

figured it out, QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland is missing for my user, while it's present on a test user ive created

...and now i returned to xorg because some other problems popped up on wayland. funny enough, those qt apps have the same ui glitches again (already unset that variable) ... but obs works again, well... at least something :D
(i found a plugin for obs on wayland before but it didn't work)

hmm it worked when i started keepassxc with that directly, now it's set and it doesn't work anymore like at all ... odd

nvm broken again after relogin, but lets see...

it is so freakin weird: i've cleaned up some potential troublemakers and in the end it worked with 'GDK_BACKEND=x11 keepassxc' again - then i've added it to .profile, logged out and in again, doublechecked that the variable was there and ...it was broken again. also running it like above does not help.

however obs has the same broken window so i am not in peace yet :(

well i've tried to compare the env of the testuser and mine, i have reviewed various configs and i couldn't find the reason, i now could give up and migrate to a new user or do a clean install - but i don't like the idea of giving up :(
