One of the many things that makes "The Play That Goes Wrong" so wonderful is that all of the "actors" have personalities and motivations of their own.
So the actual actors are playing actors who are playing characters. There's two levels of acting going on there, which can't be easy to do.
Brilliant, hilarious play. If you're in the #nyc area, see it before it closes in January.
Any #writing folks out there who can recommend a good resource for structuring of classic locked-room murder mystery novels? I'm toying with the idea of one now, and I've laid out the plot beat-by-beat to the point where the first person gets murdered. But I'm struggling with keeping the investigation compelling and moving forward without giving too much away.
I've read a million murder mysteries, you'd think I'd have an instinctive sense for the structure by now, but no.
Saw "Florence + The Machine" last night at Barclay in Brooklyn. She is the most incredible live performer. My wife compared her to a cult leader, but in a positive way. (At one point she even seemed to be "blessing" members of the audience, with her hand on their foreheads.) She's so compelling, you can't look away.
I wasn't even a big fan of her music recorded--I liked it just fine, but wasn't wowed by it the way I was by her live.

Religion, crazy people in the subway Show more
I have often wondered whether the crazy people in the subway who say that the world is about to end worry at all about the fact that people like them have a 0% track record for accuracy.
People have been saying for millennia that the world is about to end, and it never has ended. You'd think that would worry the latest batch, wouldn't you? It doesn't seem to, but I'd love to know if they have at least thought about that.

In honor of taco day I decided to make a favorite easy delicious recipe:
One alteration: The recipe calls for feta but I assume that they’re assuming that their audience doesn’t have access to queso fresco. Please use queso fresco instead if you can.

TIL not to slice grilling cheese in half thickness-wise before grilling it. It needs that thickness. Without that it melts.

@jgmac1106 @morganth Huh, you're right, happens at minute 11: https://www.watchcartoononline.com/the-new-scooby-and-scrappy-doo-show-episode-2
FOAK: I have a fuzzy memory from my childhood of a #ScoobyDoo episode (not sure which series, but it would have been in the 80s), where they were in a creepy haunted house, and at the end, they escaped the house and it sank into the ground, House of Usher style.
Anyone else remember that episode and can point me to it? Google has been no help.
I'm a storyteller in both my personal and my professional lives. Expect weird musings and cute cat pictures.
