A new study finds that Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei and Realme smartphones transmit "large amounts of data" to the manufacturer. Like Google smartphones, they collect e.g. IMEI numbers, the phone number of the device, plus the serial numbers of a whole number of installed hardware components & the inserted SIM card. Location data, the MAC addresses of the installed WLAN transceiver, IP addresses, cookies & other telemetry data are also transmitted to the manufacturer.

The researchers praise the Google-free /e/-OS. They say it collects almost no data and is by far the "most privacy-friendly Android version".

I hope the study was not sponsored by /e/....

They also said very vaguely and without detail that is worse then /e . I did not understand why.
