@ink_slinger I like the idea of hyper-local anarchosocialist collectives dealing with our day-to-day problems, and connecting up to solve the big ones.
The way we _do_ democracy in liberal democracies is fundamentally alienating. It trivializes the importance of individual action and ownership in group decisions, and it turns politics into at best a technocracy and at worst a game. Direct democracy in _this system_ cannot work by design.
I'm mad at the state of #technology so I'm going to go read a book now that's probably going to make me mad at the state of #politics instead

Das neue Datenschutzgesetz ist durch. Zuerst mit einem Vorschlag das Gesetz so inhuman und datenschutzunfreundlich machen wie es nur geht. Um nach der Empörung zurückzurudern und sich auf einen faulen Kompromiss zu einigen.

Mastodon newbie protip: don't click the "remote follow" button. Just copy the user's URL and paste it into the search bar of your home instance, then click the follow button (the little icon of a person with a "+" on it).
Not only is "remote follow" slower and more awkward; it's a potential security risk, because a malicious instance could trick you into giving them your password (if you're not paying attention to the URL bar).

Ein etwas vernachlässigter Aspekt ist der Datenschutz in der Verwaltung. Der Staat weiß einfach ziemlich viel über dich. Und neben den Kollateralschäden bei der Digitalisierung für das neue glorreiche Zeitalter der elektronischen Verarbeitung gibt es noch den Interessenskampf um die Hoheit der Daten - immerhin muss das zukunftsträchtige Spielfeld der Big Data Anwendungen in der Verwaltung erobert werden.

Ich möchte daran erinnern, dass sich heute der Bundestag mit Gesetzen zum Datenschutz beschäftigt. Dabei klingt das Wort Datenschutz nicht gerade nach Freiheit und Selbstbestimmung. Die Assoziation ist eher so Richtung Bürokratie, vor allem im Zusammenhang mit 'Bundestag' und 'Gesetzen'.
Trotzdem: Was dort verhandelt wird, hat letztlich ziemlichen Einfluß auf alle.
Wie man so behandelt wird.
Was andere sich so herausnehmen dürfen.
