Hey @amolith

Thanks for maintaining meet.nixnet.services

Could you let me know about the number of people it can handle?

for a number, can it handle 50 or more people in a room?

What are the maximum number of people you have seen attending any particular meet?

@rajudev

for a number, can it handle 50 or more people in a room?

I haven't personally experienced more than 20 people sharing video at a time but, with my server's specs, ~200 simultaneous video streams with ~100 of those in the same room shouldn't be a problem.

What are the maximum number of people you have seen attending any particular meet?

Towards the end of the summer, an Indian technical college used it for a remote three-day event with 244 participants in one room. Only a couple of people shared video at a time though; the rest were just watching and listening.

Is there a specific event you have in mind?

There's an online free software camp scheduled to start soon - @fscamp. We have a BBB host available to host it. But since we have a surge in registrations, it would be great to have your instance to add to the options.

@amolith We are planning to use it for camp.fsf.org.in/

@fscamp

we were discussing whether to divide the group in batches, in order to make sure to not to stress the server.

On some BBB servers we have had issues with 50 plus people.

@rajudev @akhilvarkey You're more than welcome to use my instance, just let me know what day/time you'll need it and I'll keep an eye on performance :blobthumbsup:

@amolith @rajudev
Thank You !! We'll discuss it after finalizing registrations and contact you.
Is it ok to DM you here or should we mail you ?
