I work for a federal owned company in germany as some kind of security engineer. I lead a small team of excellent penetration testers and incident response guys.
I am using #OpenBSD since 1998/1999 (I am to old to remember exactly) where I got in touch with it the first time preinstalled on my wonderful Sun Sparc Station 4 bought on ebay.
Until now it is my preferred firewall operating system.
Over the years I also got in touch a lot with #FreeBSD and love #ZFS so much! #introduction
Started an account on @phessler mastodon instance for the bsd folks because of @mwlauthor. Blame him, but hope to see you guys there! https://bsd.network/@malwanne
"Winter of '95" The #OpenBSD release song for 6.1 was just pushed out to the world.
It includes a nice little history lesson of creating the first anoncvs instance, and what that meant at the time.

after threatening to do so for almost 2 years, I finally submitted paperwork to RIPE for my own ASNs and PI IPv6 space.
@milan is there a reason why the user count of the @tchncsbot dropped nearly 1200 users yesterday?
Binary updates for #HardenedBSD 12-CURRENT, 11-STABLE, 11-STABLE/LibreSSL, and 10-STABLE on amd64 have been published.
The 12-CURRENT update includes the change from upstream #FreeBSD to switch arc4random(9) to #ChaCha20.
Upgrading #OpenBSD, even snapshot-to-snapshot, is so easy it's boring: http://bsdly.blogspot.no/2012/07/keeping-your-openbsd-system-in-trim.html (updated to reflect 6.1 onwards)

to reiterate: there will be _no_ #openbsd 6.1 cd set made. and it is very unlikely there will be future cd sets made, either.
Theo talks about it here: https://marc.info/?l=openbsd-misc&m=149232307018311&w=2

pawoo.net is currently banned due to a lot of pedopornographic accounts there, without any action from the administrator.
Instance pawoo.net bannie en raison d'un important nombre de comptes pédopornographiques sur celle-ci, sans action prise par l'administrateur de pawoo.net
I love how easy it is to backup my laptop with #ZFS.
If you like #mastodon you would have loved the internet in the late 90s.
Here's your one and only chance to take that back. No, not only on twitter.
Don't centralize your life. Don't rely on a single corporation helping them accumulate too much power. Like Facebook or GMail.
Diversify and try to control your own data.
Some Mastodon instances with higher security TLS configurations are not working in Tusky on Android 7.0. This is due to a regression in its system SSL library—fixed in Android 7.1—where the only supported elliptic curve is secp256r1.
As far as I know, there isn't anything that can be fixed on Tusky's part, aside from shipping its own SSL library, which is too big an undertaking.
Sorry to folks who can't use the app because of this.
Wanted to give OpenBSD a try but don't have a machine or time to set up a VPS?
There are a bunch of people in Poland running #OpenBSD 6.1 and giving away free shells - perfect way to dip your toes in the OpenBSD ecosystem.
