If I never read a serial killer book again, though, I will be very happy. There are many other traumas to exploit, authors, so stop with the serial killers. Ugh.
Finished Dan Chaon's Ill Will. It's an ambitious and interesting book. I can't say I enjoyed reading it, exactly, but I respect what he was doing, both stylistically and in terms of the ideas. Wish the women characters had been more fully developed, though.

Why are SV Techlords so utterly clueless about the social aspects of politics and economics (i.e., all the aspects that matter)? Oh, right. They think social problems are easily solvable using technical solutions. 😡

Alaska Natives formed corporations to manage the money they received for giving up land-use rights to oil/gas companies & the US govt. They are the opposite of a basic income strategy.

I will never understand making a sock puppet account to snark on a post that you can only snark on if you interpret it in the most ungenerous way possible. And then double down when your interpretation is challenged. You were mean *and* wrong. Don't die on that hill. Don't be that guy.

So, I reactivated my blog. I've blogged off and on since about 2011. I got into a few kerfuffles and one of them was abusive enough to drive me off public writing for a while. And heaven knows there are enough people pontificating online. But I like the informality of the format and the chance for discussion. Let's see how long I last.
