"Google admits workers listen to private recordings from around your house
Google claims listening to recordings is 'critical' to improving its AI voice assistant"
@tofuwabohu industry-wide poorly kept secret makes headlines after someone admits to it in writing
@tofuwabohu Well I'd say that if Google has those recordings in the first place, it suggests their devices aren't powerful enough for their task.
And if it's a nuisance for the devices to make it clear when they're recording, it's not doing the job well enough. But I can see how listening to those recordings can help reduce how many they receive.
am I actually supposed to be surprised by this?
@tofuwabohu use mycroft instead
@tofuwabohu Never understood the appeal of those things.
@tofuwabohu this will be very interesting for my house lol, they probably the data out because it's so boring.
Woah, what's next, them storing my location history?
