@generica a few years back a lot of money was spent on a "custom cloud" for the NHS (which failed), now they just use what I jokingly refer to as "Brexit 365" (Office 365 on UK only datacentre)
Luckily at my work because we are mixed funding (private+NHS) we can still use the pan-European O365 as well as locally maintained systems (I would rather not have the Redmond stuff but no one codes UK healthcare apps for Linux (some tried, but politics on both sides killed that project)

although much is due to a lack of resources and unwillingness of British citizens and govt to see taxes correctly allocated to the NHS (or only to treat the patients *they* feel are "worthy") - so resources are clearly prioritised towards the "deserving older patients"..
(I work in IT / building services maintenance for a company providing care for elderly/long term patients (part NHS funded) so see a lot of what happens at first hand (at least for top end of age group))
