THANK GODDNESS THEY HAVE STOPPED REVILLYIFING GREENHAM ON THE ARCHERS . IT WAS BAD ENOUGH THE FIRST TIME IN THE 1980S AND THE STORY ESCALATED INTO THE MOST AMAZING PLACES INCLUDING THE WALES TOUTIST BOARD . ALL THE PAPERS IN THE NATIONAL LIBRARY OF WALES - CAMPBRELL COLLECTION IT STYARTED WITH A LONG LETTER FROM ME ASKING WHY SO MANY ISSUES WERE NOT THERE

@campbell alas, that doesn't surprise me. I don't listen to the Archers, but I was a teenager in 1980snand could see the media / normal society conflated the Greenham Common protest with the wider scene of unlicensed festivals

the way both were clamped down on was inexcusable, and completely counterproductive (particularly the beanfield incident, IMO this didn't stop alternative culture one bit but simply made it more nihilstic and drug fuelled (rather than the positive campaigns of Greenham)
