@Dayglochainsaw when I was about 10 I wanted to look like Adam Ant or David van Day (half of Dollar, one of Britain's few Europop acts form the early 1980s) did but ofc you had to be a pop star or actor to get away with that and I just had to dress like a normal lad (and David van Day is just a Tory gammon type now, and AFAIK Adam Ant has semi retired due to health issues)

(this was around 1982, which is probably equally ancient to most people reading here 😆 )
