@oceangrunge @tcql I've dealt with harassment on just about everywhere save maybe picture-oriented social media, but having been online for like 20 years now that just seems like par for the course. Mastodon's a social media network, much like any other, it's not necessarily more or less ~special~

TBH I stay here rather than birbsite because there are more features, rather than expecting any greater level of safety - although with well run instances and responsive admins there can be a greater level of this.
Even so with bigger instances doing this admin/security work is a difficult and thankless task, especially as its viewed as being "big brother" by some..
