I uploaded everything I've done at Epitech when I was there. If you want to see C with ridiculous and counter-productive norms you can take a look at it https://github.com/Siphonay/epitech_projects
@Siphonay at least I can use the contents to practice using git with - but I'm not even sure what your profs were expecting you to do here; other than what appear to be slightly rehashed exercises copied out of K&R from 1983 or thereabouts and there seems to be no heed paid to bounds checking, avoiding buffer overflows which is surely worth teaching from the start; before the consequences are learned the hard way? Seems nothing has changed in 30 years!
@vfrmedia Yeah it's really old C practices and exercises. The main focus was avoiding memory leaks, the end goal with all of our project was to have 0 memory leaks, or it would lower our grade. If you're interested, I can provide you the norm reference and some subjects -- they're all in english
@Siphonay there is some sense in doing that, although its also what K&R suggest.
I understand now why your project was called "piscine" ๐
@vfrmedia It's called like that because "you are forced to crawl your way up or you drown"
@Siphonay as much as I enjoy tech I don't think this is really the best way of teaching anything and was discouraged from UK education in my time - it might work with some very dedicated students but can really kill the passion to learn for your own enjoyment when overdone in this manner (I would likely have only lasted 3 weeks in that uni)
@vfrmedia well this pretty much killed my passion and almost started a depression and a period of several weeks where I couldn't approach computers and essentially spent my days lying in my bed because I was both unwilling to do anything computer-related and terrified to go back to school after missing two weeks and being late on many projects
@Siphonay in my case I discovered drugs very soon after joining uni which in some ways gave me something to live for; but had many other side effects (the worst being 25 years having to lie to my parents which I hated doing). Also its another reason why I don't have a driving license or go for "formal" IT certifications (thankfully my employers don't insist on them) as I near enough have panic attacks when attempting any kind of test/exam to this day,,
@vfrmedia the C Pool is the first thing new students do : five weeks of 6/7 days working from 9am to 11pm in intense and repetitive exercises. I lost the first days for some reason
