@RunningInCircles question for you and anyone else in #Suffolk - do you seem to be getting increasingly delayed/intermittent Royal Mail deliveries? I'm finding first class mail taking 3 or more days to arrive and not always getting post every day either - not even junk mail which seems highly unusual!
@RunningInCircles it seems to vary a lot depending on where stuff is coming from, but the complete lack of even junk mail made me more suspicious. The post *does* seem to eventually get through but its like the whole street only gets deliveries 3-4 days a week rather than 6! It seems like Ipswich delivery office might even be struggling to recruit the casual staff (which post privatisation and budget cuts doesn't surprise me)

That would be normal.
To not have rounds go out in Ipswich because of a lack of staff. It certainly was the case in the past. The mail might sit until somebody was available to do that walk. 2/3 days maybe.
My reference knowledge is a long time out of date, but what you describe fits past practice.

Delivery seems ok most of the time. Stuff from Scotland first class has arrived the following day recently.
As an ex-postman, it's common this time of year. Temp holiday staff slow down both sorting and delivery.
