@dazinism @cnc I'm a bit older and this was a *new* thing from around 1987 onwards, I remember it distinctly from high school time.
Before then you (as a young person) were allowed *slightly* more time to grow up and develop (more like rest of Northern Europe) but it all changed very quickly here in UK (probably due to Reagans influence)
@vfrmedia @cnc I remember the grants not loans protests, then loads later the anti tuition fees. I like to look at it through a lens which shows 'them' doing whatever they can to significantly increasing the amount of debt in the economy in order to satisfy the need for ever increasing debt & abate financial system collapse.

@dazinism @cnc I dropped out of Uni in 1992 for a variety of reasons. I've also never had a full driving license, and ride an #ebike (fully paid for in one hit) for main transport. I've been lucky and managed to get a reasonably paid, secure job in IT with a medium size family run business with the same salary a graduate would get, my only big debt is my mortgage but I'm a least lucky to "own" my own house. I do perhaps live a more "Euro" lifestyle compared to many Brits though...
