Tip: should you need to distinguish a juvenile goose from a , look at the shape of the bill/beak (ducks have a distinctively shaped bill).

Also the Egyptian "goose" is in fact a duck but all the other species in its genus have become extinct:

@Mainebot @Siphonay I wouldn't class myself as that smart (I just happen to live in a part of England where (both domestic and wild) are very common but there is an actual Professor Fox who (along with many others) monitors populations of geese across Northern Europe for the EU Environment Ministries😆

(was trying to find the website for this project but the EU has shifted it somewhere..)
