do people use the #SDF #VoIP conference at the time that is allotted for #aNONradio broadcast? i remember having some lovely discussions there & would be very interested in joining back in or getting it going again!

@nydel oooh, party-line on anonradio via sdf voip?! That sounds fantastic. I want in

@tomasino super fun right!? i think it technically just started its hour a few minutes ago. but as i said i don’t know whether it’s still going.

@nydel call back, froggyme just joined the call

@tomasino i will be right back i had to finish the spaghetti and put it in a thing

@solderpunk @tomasino let’s do it again soon! there was some very poignant agreement on the stupidity of cryptocurrency and vegan fast food last time that i wouldn’t mind continuing.

@nydel @tomasino Sadly I've realised that the OpenVOIP slot is not really any less terrible for me than the OpenMic slot, from a timezone perspective, so I might have to miss out after all.

@solderpunk @nydel when is the next time slot? I bet it's going to be hard for me too

@tomasino @nydel OpenVOIP is 0200 to 0300 UTC, i.e. 4am-5am for me. OpenMic follows immediately afterward. I would be using OpenMic to trial run doing my show if it weren't for the fact that I'm never up that early.

@solderpunk @tomasino @nydel this would be a similarly inconvenient time for Brits (0300-0400 here also offset depending on whether summer time is in operation).

I'm also not sure if my sdf membership has been upgraded to full (I did make the paypal payment but not sure if I allocated it to the USA or Euro bit of sdf and am not sure how to check what facilities I currently have, still very new to sdf..)

@vfrmedia @tomasino @nydel If you run `uinfo` after logging in you can see what membership tier you are currently on.

SDF.eu is, IMHO, lamentably isolated from the US server and undermaintained (even worse than SDF proper). I would not be surprised to find out that no membership level on the EU server gives you access to the VOIP system, but I could be wrong.

@solderpunk @tomasino because of this (and having two accounts) I switched to USA server.

unifo returns that
@nydel

has validated my account (its still not clear to me which level of membership I actually have. Some commands are however available I couldn't use when I first joined.

I tried to make a homepage which sort of works but gives a permissions error when attempted to access from "outside"); and eventually want to use the gopher but need to remember how to work that!

@vfrmedia @tomasino @nydel If validation is the last event listed, then you are "just" a "validated user" (the second part of "USERS (free)" at sdf.org/?join). A one time payment of US$36 will permanently promote you to ARPA level (which is what I'm at) and give you access to the VOIP system. You could run `uinfo solderpunk` to see how your own `uinfo` output would look after that.

@solderpunk @tomasino @vfrmedia if memory serves i validated yours quite a while ago. if you’re still waiting please bring it up in BBOARD/REQUESTS as that is the place most likely to get seen i think.

@nydel @solderpunk @tomasino I've just posted in there, hopefuly the post does get through ( I answered "no" to readers poll but it hasn't appeared in the list, not sure if it only updates every few mins rater than dynamically?)

@vfrmedia @nydel @tomasino I can see your post, so it went through and you needn't worry. There is typically a small delay before posts are visible.
