@z428 did you look at flutter? What bottlenecks do you see in chrome?
@sweetietheyknow Well I want / need to build desktop applications (Linux, Apple, Windows), and #electron feels not really like a good choice for that. It's chunky and large even for smaller applications, and the whole technology stack on top of it seems a fragile mess in many aspects... :|
@z428 ah well I was referring to their desktop solutions in progress. I’d really like to say profile electron and see. Sure the web can be ugly, but it’s not all that bad.
@sweetietheyknow Ah ok, thanks - wasn't even aware of desktop flutter. Gonna have a look. :) Don't really have a problem with web technology, it's only that tools such as #npm seem ... still immature to say the very least. We have some larger #npm based projects we're not permanently working on, and if you check them out and try working with them even after a couple of weeks, it's interesting how much things can go wrong with "wrong" versions of #nodejs, #npm or third-party modules. :|
