Does anyone else have a thing where you have a favourite metaphor that you like, but you know that very few people will understand it so you can't use it in general conversation?
I sometimes think of difficulties in communication as an 'impedance matching problem', but nobody without a physics or electronic engineering degree is going to know what I am talking about if I use that metaphor. (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impedance_matching#Transmission_lines if you're curious)
This makes me (a little bit) sad. ☹️
