I forgot to say I was able to wear my flip flops again today because the weather was nice and a ladybug landed (and stayed) on my foot.

The time I walked, or rather ran, on hot coals:
In Senegal, charcoal was made by igniting wood and burying it in sand where the wood would slowly smolder and turn into charcoal. A friend was showing me an area where local farmers had done this. He was wearing heavy boots. I was wearing flip-flops. The rubber soles of my flip-flops began to melt and I felt the heat of hot embers under my feet. But when I tried to walk out of the area, my partly melted flip-flops were stuck. They came off my feet and I had to run 5-10 meters across the hot embers to reach cooler ground. In hindsight, it was very funny. But the bottoms of my feet were burned and sore for a few days.

Have a kid getting married this summer (or anytime, I guess)? When my first daughter got married, I brought along a pair of sparkly flip-flops to the reception to wear when I couldn't handle the high heels while dancing. Daughter #2 requested them for her wedding, so I bought a few dozen cheap pairs of flip-flops in many sizes, put them in a nice basket & pretty soon we ran out & people were wearing them on the dance floor.

The #Beauty of #Wales, some #Photos of the lake in #Llanberis, the lower reservoir lake of #Dinorwig pumped power station, one of the most important power plants in #UK. The lake is called #LlynPadarn, it is linked to another lake #LlynPeris, which is the lower reservoir mentioned.
Llanberis is the starting point of the steam locomotive that goes up to the summit of mount #Snowdon in #Snowdonia. In summer this area is overrun by tourist, the climb the summit or take the train up, many of the hikers climb up in #FlipFlops, which is really dangerous and stupid. I have walked some part to the summit, from a point a bit higher than Llanberis, and I saw lots of bloody toes and feet at that time.
It is a nice area, if you ever get a chance or are close you might want to consider a detour, I'd prefer to come off peak season, so maybe start/end of the season.
