@pandora @fedibikes_de #Tablet ist leider wirklich schwierig, da suche ich auch gerade noch eine sinnvolle Möglichkeit. Ich überlege immer mal wieder ein gebrauchtes #SurfaceGo von M$ zu holen und #Linux aufzuspielen. Ich bin aber unsicher, ob es bei der Nutzbarkeit wirklich mit #Android mithalten kann (Benutzbarkeit ohne Tastatur+Maus, Akkulaufzeiten, StandBy-Zeit, zuverlässiges Einblenden der Bildschirmtastatur,...). #LinuxMobile #linuxtablet

I am using a Surface Go as a daily driver. I installed Linux @fedora@fosstodon.org  on it.  I want to embrace the touchscreen and the pen, but this machine is increasingly locking up. I really don't want to reinstall Windows on it. I have a hunch that 4gb of RAM isn't enough. I really don't want to buy yet another laptop. So, I'm thinking about an experiment.
I wonder if I could offload 90% of the applications I've installed and only use it as a writing tablet.  Then, create a desktop in the cloud. Maybe I could install LXD on my @yunohost@mastodon.social  server, and then install a distro with DE. Or maybe I could create a stationary workstation at home and install #RustDesk and remote into it.
I like the idea of the cloud desktop on Yunohost because I could have my own desktop on any machine.
The caveat to that is that I may need a more powerful server. Which I would rather invest in the server over another workstation or new laptop.

Seriously considering moving back from the Surface Laptop Go 2 to the Surface Go 3.

I made the switch in the first place because while I *love* the flexibility/modularity/all-in-one-ness of the Go, in 2022 I found myself using it in my lap a LOT, and (like the Surface Pro), the Go is NOT lap-able. The Laptop Go, on the other hand, is (as its name implies) a traditional laptop.

But the Laptop Go has quite a few drawbacks, too.
