27% left to go! This book is awesome, and I'm close to finishing it!
Cibola Burn by James SA Corey, book 4 of #TheExpanse
So my next question about the #TheExpanse and #physics is:
Is thrust even possible in space? Is it possible for a ship to speed up and slow down?
I don't know about the books but the story threads in the TV series are pretty sloppy.
There are a few random storylines that literally go nowhere. In season 6 it's a storyline about some alien necromancer dogs.
And one series has the finale half way through, then continues with obviously the beginning of the next book. I guess that was something to do with the series being cancelled or something.
It's an odd series because it's pretty good but just so very sloppy at times.
OK, so the gravity on the ships comes from thrust.
I'm not no physicist or anything but wouldn't that mean to maintain constant gravity the ship would have to be continually accelerating?
If so, that doesn't seem particularly plausible to me.
If you're looking for Game of Thrones meets The Expanse, (and you were, you didn't know it yet) then you've got it right here!
James S.A. Corey's 'Cibola Burn' is another gripping, fast-paced entry in their SF-adventure 'Expanse' series. I enjoyed it enormously.

I backed the recent Kickstarter for "The Expanse: A Little Death" so I figured it was a good time to finally dive in to the graphic novels and catch up.
Here are my #weeknotes from April 1 to 7, 2025.
Made progress in #HollowKnight, read a bunch of #TheExpanse's Cibola Burn, played some #DutchBlitz with friends, got a few #PhysicalGames in the mail, and other things!
This is day 44 of #100DaysToOffload
2nd evening #astrophotography, first time with a Sky Watcher mount, my new Sony A7 IV and Sigma 400mm. Still very n00by, but I was amazed seeing Saturn's moons Ganymede, Europa and Callisto! Having watched #theexpanse, I know exactly what'll go down there in a few hundred years...
I then went to try and shoot nebulae from my balcony in Zurich - but got nothing but light pollution.
I just finished watching The Expanse 2x11 "Here There Be Dragons". Did you see it? #tvshows #movies https://trakt.tv/shows/the-expanse/seasons/2/episodes/11 #TheExpanse #trakt
Ya, Belta Lang.

Belta Lawda=Belters Together
It's a rallying cry.
You already seen Camina Drummer, she's got a minor role as the Security chief on Tycho, but she becomes a key character and just rocks!

Shoreh Agdashloos's (of #TheExpanse fame) deep, raspy voice always reminds me of that of German punk legend Nina Hagen. I doubt though that she could also change pitch to glass-shattering heights like Nina could, often in the same song.
While I don't love #TheExpanse, my - most likely unpopular - opinion is that it is better than #Babylon5

This is what happened to Cara in Leviathan Falls, the last book of #TheExpanse :
