On a personal note, I've spent the week talking to lawyers, and permitting people, and loan officers, and lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my. And my wife has indicated that as good as comedy movies are for brains, she thinks mine might benefit from leaving the house. If I do I'll be watching in spirit.

Tonight it's time to watch Val Kilmer's very first movie: Top Secret! (1984). It's a silly comedy parody spy movie and is free to watch on PlutoTV.

"An American rock and roll singer is invited to a cultural festival in East Germany in order to distract from a plot to destroy NATO submarines, but he accidentally becomes involved in a resistance plot to rescue an imprisoned scientist."

Most of the German translations are jokes rather than actual translations.

Stars Val Kilmer, Omar Sharif, Jeremy Kemp, Lucy Gutteridge, and Warren Clarke, with appearances by Ian McNeice, Peter Cushing, & Jim Carter.

Aber Kilmers Persona sei auch „divenhaft“, „widerspenstig“, „konfrontativ“. Just watched #Tombstone (1993) moderner alter #Western voller Klischees und raubeinigen Kitsch und einer fast unerträglichen Maske von #ValKilmer in einer fast Gunslinger Rolle zusammen mit #KurtRussel recht eindrucksvoll und cool aber sehr enttäuschendes Editing gerade am Ende.
