It is worth recalling that #tradeunions and #socialistsocieties set up the #labourparty so as to exercise countervailing power within the political system. There was a real risk during the #blair years that it would be captured by those very corporate lobbies and their useful idiots - set out at the time by #colincrouch who described it as 'post democracy'. I had thought that danger had gone but that may be premature in the light of stories about #morganmcsweeny and #waheedalli !

Decided to start this back up now that I'm drawing more regularly. And since I'm doing it on stream, it's fun to collaborate with chat on which character to do :)

The only rules were that the character's name starts with the letter, and no repeat series.

So, 'B' is for #Blair from #SoulEater! Not bad for my first real dip into anime I think :)

Also first time attempting a megathread, hope I'm doing it right >.<

@RaymondPierreL3 @firstdogonthemoon you cannot have a democracy in which a small minority, because of their wealth, have vastly more influence than anyone else. It does not work – as #Biden and #Starmer (and before them #Blair and #Clinton) have so amply demonstrated.

#Obama was a bit different in that he did at least seem to try to raise his campaign finance from the same people he sought votes from, but once in power he did not confront the oligarchs at all.

We got another inch or so last night on Kent Island. The little that I shoveled is covered again. Temperature is 20 with windchill of 1 degree Fahrenheit
