I’m poking around in #infomaniak email service and it is fantastic! I could have a separate user for my #selfhosted services who don’t have access to my personal emails. Nice web interface and very nice mobile app. I think I want to migrate from #Fastmail to have my emails in Europe. Also this is a good opportunity to also move my main email address into my personal domain, so I don’t bound to a specific email provider.

This is not an April joke and yes Google offers OpenPGP for Gmail Accounts. This is not difficult to set up but too many people are too lazy in my opinion.

Keine Lust deine E-Mails von Big Tech verwalten zu lassen? Dann schau dir #b1gMail an, gibt es seit 2002 und ermöglicht es dein eigener E-Mail-Anbieter zu sein. Es lässt sich auf jedem Webspace installieren und kann z.B. via POP3-Catchall Postfach die E-Mails abholen lassen. Es kann auch mit einem bestehenden MTA wie Postfix eingesetzt werden. Mit #b1gMailServer wird POP3, IMAP und SMTP bereitgestellt.
Discovered that Spamdyke's "greylisting" is why the 2FA code emails to my hosting provider's email accounts often arrive so late they expire.
It bounces the first arrival of an email with the assumption that a non-spammy email server will retry.
Turns out this really confuses whatever queues are sending out these 2FA code emails. Sometimes it takes an hour for them to arrive (expired). Disabled it & now I can get into several services I've been locked out of.
Ugg.
Now that in iOS 18.4 you can finally set the Mail app to return to the inbox after archiving/deleting messages, I may finally give it a try after all these years.
A polish friend just told me about freeshell.de. I think I should have known about it sooner so I'm slow to this party but it feels very interesting.
