I'm really starting to hate Netflix. They are getting as bad as Amazon Prime Video where you find something to watch and it says you need to upgrade your subscription (or rent it if on Prime). I think it is time to cancel all these streaming services and go back to buying disks... or just go without because honestly there isn't that many new good movies out these days.

First, 24 hours just doesn't always happen for me. I am not great at email. In my (partial) defense, this university insists on
1. preventing any other means of #ElectronicCommunication (e.g., my response time was *much* faster and more reliable before I was prohibited from using a #discord server for each class)
2. flooding that single bottleneck channel of communication with a ton of shit: Holiday theme in the cafeteria! Starbucks is having a promotion! 10% off apparel at the bookstore! Here's a workshop only applicable to 5% of anybody! The president wants to tell you boring things nobody cares about! I'm selling my couch! Flags at half mast! 15 tips for healthy work/life balance! All in the same channel.
Because past presidents bought into Google, there's also no convenient way to flag/emphasize emails I want to see (e.g., from students). Ongoing filtering is a thing (clunky in google, IMO), but just whitelisting a group of emails requires a bunch of repeated work every couple of months and constant vigilance in between. Email is a nightmare for me.

When did the solution to the problem of "we've broken something in every release" turn from "let's try not to break backwards compatibility in every release" into "here's a way to install every version and you can pick the one that works"?
Boy! So I want to go to see #DreamTheater in #Amsterdam tonight and drive by #train (from the west of Germany), be kind to our environment.
But - suprise! - train is #cancelled due to "unforseen" (i.e., well known) construction works. Next direct connection is booked out, only indirect connections with two or more changovers left, 1h+ longer ride.
Oh, the return train tomorrow changed, too. Destination station can't be reached & is detoured to another station. Isn't that bad as the other station is the one I'd normally start from. But the detour could take 1h longer.
Sorry, I'll use the car instead

See, there are three #Forklift operators here. One with a five-ton, and two two-ton vehicles.
The guy with the five-ton was on #Vacation for three weeks, so one of the two-ton guys did take over and I took his #Job.
Now, I'm no longer doing this job, and the people who depend on that job to be done are angry because the one who makes it regularly obviously #Sucks at it…
Preparing content week by week to teach is exhausting, and haven't even had time so far to prepare any more labs etc in advance (I have other important tasks I can't ignore), let alone think about PhD corrections yet.
At this point just trying to get through the experience in one piece lol
