I refactored the [[Bookcase]] in my wiki … it might be a good topic for a video tutorial someday.

Instead of loading in different stored lists as a way of filtering the content, I now have one list that is filtered dynamically that both list (text) views and cover (image) views adhere to, making for neat on-the-fly re-arranging of the same list, and much more optimized.

Operating Superstars #Wiki progress - Version 1 article and Teams article

Some of these were difficult, but I filled out the rest of the descriptions in the Teams article! With this update, this article is no longer listed as a WIP for now. There are a couple of teams that have been mentioned before, but I haven’t added only because I haven’t written descriptions for them and their sectors yet.

I also published the article about version 1 of the project, which is adapted from the page that I wrote on the blog for it. It’s still a WIP since I plan to add more sections, but some of them will be new and this also shows how much more efficient it has been to re-write pages from the site into a wiki article format!

The descriptions on the Teams page are intentionally kept as short as I could make them, and with my tendency to write a lot, adapting the descriptions from the site was challenging for me. It gradually got easier though.

From here I can start writing articles for many of the sectors and teams. I also began a draft about version 2 of the project, which is partially based on a draft I started months ago but never finished.

To make some noise for the newly independent wikis, undertale.wiki as well as deltarune.wiki are now live. Congratulations on their successful fork from Fandom!

Even though the community vote on the fork ended just recently, the websites must have been prepared waaaaaay beforehand as they seem to be:
- completely independently hosted
- domain registered a year ago
- Discussions backend uses Discourse, which I don't think I've seen before on wikis?
- There are some kinks to iron out, but the fork seems to be pretty quality.

This was also some very quick reaction based on incoming Deltarune releases.

My utmost respect goes to KockaAdmiralac for leadership on this move.

Also a reminder of getindie.wiki/ existence, Undertale and Deltarune wikis will show up there as soon as the extension gets accepted in browser stores.

Operating Superstars #Wiki progress - First custom templates featuring characters

The “Details Not Finalized” template is for pages that have some information on them that’s not finalized. It has a parameter to fill out to list which specific details aren’t finalized; this one is on the Teams article though I’m leaning towards keeping the list of teams arranged by sector. 🤔 Prima was chosen for this template to reflect one of her occupations as a playwright.

The “Completed Stories” template is for stories or installments of a series that are completed. I published the article for “System Time Reset…”, a completed two-chapter story. The template features Michelle since she’s a movie director.

More commentary in the blog post: operatingsuperstars.wordpress.

My focus on the Operating Superstars #Wiki continues and I added descriptions for each of the listed sectors on the Sectors article, and started adding descriptions for the teams on the Teams article:

📄 operatingsuperstars.miraheze.o
📄 operatingsuperstars.miraheze.o

There will be plans later to add links to full articles for most of the sectors and teams. These articles adapt the Setting page from the blog.

With the updates I’ve been doing, I marked the Setting page on the blog as having outdated information since some of the details on the wiki articles changed from details on it. I wasn’t expecting these changes to happen as soon as I started porting information over, but I think the wiki format is helping a lot with making what I wrote on the blog more polished!

The descriptions I wrote on the wiki articles are greatly condensed and I’m trying to narrow down the descriptions to the most immediate details since the full-length articles can have longer overviews, history sections and sections for other information.

I needed to adjust the #Writing style of the information as it’s being adapted to the wiki from the blog, but I still kept puns in some of the descriptions because this wouldn’t feel like a work of mine without puns everywhere.

Adapting some of the descriptions for the teams has been difficult, but I hope to finish them soon.

Gotta love the Undertale/Deltarune independent wiki advertisement on e621.

Also glad to see that Fandom community for Undertale is currently deciding whether to leave Fandom platform as well, voting led by someone who has been core Fandom contributor and someone I really respect. A bit sucks that it looks like the community will be split multiple ways though, Cyberpedia (from attached ad) seems to be hosted on @miraheze and unrelated to the Fandom fork.

Operating Superstars — #Wiki launch! 🎉

The wiki launched a few days ago as a much more practical way for me to continue developing the pages from the original project site and blog.

operatingsuperstars.miraheze.o

It has only a few pages up now, but I have a clear roadmap ahead that I’m so excited for! I started customizing the design, though my top priority is still porting over and adapting information. The descriptions of the sectors in the Sectors page gives some hints about the updated lore and #Worldbuilding.

Have been poking around different options for using #Eleventy for a notes / #DigitalGarden / personal #wiki sort of set up. Have been debating whether to try and cobble together my own set-up or use a template.

`eleventy-bloomz` might be the winner so far: minimally styled, few dependencies, functional backlinks, and a few extra features. Stays close to the basic Eleventy structure, including a minimal blog implementation.

It is meant to function as a WikiBonsai template but I don't see anything specific to that approach that couldn't be easily changed.

Would be happy to hear if anyone has a set-up they are particularly happy with.
