@schestowitz my experience is many content owners in Germany made a total uturn against former high levels of copyright enforcement, particularly for older pop music content (especially Schlager/Neue Deutsche Welle) and even new stuff is easy to download for free (possibly out of feelings of national pride (but not in a bad/hard right way, as NDW was a very progressive genre politically).

This may also be the case for Japan too (consider the popularity of Anime, j-pop etc in the West)
