@nixCraft actually this screams "#GDPR & #BDSG violation" so loudly that even demanding #PII and espechally an #ID should get them sued by @noybeu and @Bundesverband ....

  • Cuz "#OpenAI" has neither "legitimate interest" nor a mandate to even demand to see an ID, much less to store and process it!

This isn't like a contractual agreement or some finance where one could argue "#KYC" is warranted "to combat #fraud"...

  • The only thing worse I've seen is some obscure company that brokers #bandwith with a hidden #proxy feature in #apps...

Making all those #apps in the #AppStore free is a stupid concept. It should be at least guessable how much effort was put into it. I know you can never really be sure but's a much better guess than all those crappy free products where you can #inappbuy

I liked the times in the App Store better when there were more payed products highlighted than simply highlighting free apps.

To the day I despise those subscription models. Just develop a good app, ask 60$ for it and let me go my way. ty #IOS

It’s taken me a few tries to get into @Iconfactory’s Tapestry app, but I am quite enjoying it now. The gang on @TWiT love it so I thought I’d give it another go. Previously, I’d thought of it as a Mastodon/Bluesky combined app. Which it is… but it’s also more than that. It’s a bit more similar to @feeeed or Reeder, as you can add just about any feed you want to it. After a bit of setup, it becomes quite powerful.

TechCrunch: Chinese shopping app Taobao joins DHgate in Top 5 on US App Store. “The Chinese e-commerce marketplace app DHgate, which is now the No. 2 free iPhone app in the U.S., isn’t the only one that’s oddly benefiting from President Trump’s tariffs on U.S. imports from China. Another Chinese shopping app, Taobao, has now also entered the Top 5 as of Thursday.”
