Vaughn Vernon 🟦 🟨 🟧 🟪<p>I have the strong opinion that when working with <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/EventStorming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EventStorming</span></a>, if you aren't always keeping technology at least in the back of your mind, you won't recognize unreasonable discussions that are impractical or impossible to implement in solutions. There must be a balance between abstract system process thinking and technology. Otherwise, you'll easily slip into esoteric navel gazing.</p>

Malcolm Bastien<p>I'm no expert in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ddd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ddd</span></a> or <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/eventstorming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>eventstorming</span></a>, but in my work, I keep seeing teams that can only think about building software in terms of user flows. "In our system users do A, B, and C. So we're going to build A, B, and C."</p><p>Understanding user flows is good and all, but trying to build software that way seems to scale badly and doesn't do a good job of handling complicated problems.</p><p>Maybe this is trap is what happens when people try to have the solution space match the problem space.</p>
Kenny Baas-Schwegler<p>A lot of folks skip Part VI of the blue book, the part on strategy, but I wonder how many get through Part III. Most of us build that first collaborative model with stakeholders and call it done. When new features come along, instead of rethinking the model, we shoehorn things in. And then people wonder, “We did all that <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/DomainDrivenDesign" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DomainDrivenDesign</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/EventStorming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EventStorming</span></a> with the business, so why doesn’t our model stay adaptable and flexible?”</p>
