Jepoy Bengero<p>I am trying to confirm my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GlobePrepaid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GlobePrepaid</span></a> number on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GoogleMeet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GoogleMeet</span></a>, but this error keeps popping up:</p><p>"There is a problem with your provider, and we cannot send you a text message. Contact your provider or try a number from a different provider."</p><p>The number I am trying to confirm was previously verified on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GoogleDuo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GoogleDuo</span></a>.</p><p>Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? I already reached out to <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GlobeTelecom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GlobeTelecom</span></a>, but as usual, they had no idea what I was talking about &amp; instead told me to seek help from <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Google" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Google</span></a></p>
Jepoy Bengero<p>So @qui._.tie@threads.net doesn't know what 0917 is... Yep. Jepoy Bengero<p>It appears that <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/DITOph" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DITOph</span></a> is relying on traditional <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/SMS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SMS</span></a> instead of the Emergency Cell Broadcast System to send <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/EmergencyAlerts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EmergencyAlerts</span></a> from <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/NDRRMC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NDRRMC</span></a>. We have 3 DITO, 3 Smart, and 2 Globe phones at home. Both Smart and Globe received the NDRRMC Emergency CBS alerts, but DITO only received the delayed SMS version.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/DITOTelecommunity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DITOTelecommunity</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GlobeTelecom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GlobeTelecom</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/SmartCommunications" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SmartCommunications</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Philippines" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Philippines</span></a></p>
Yohan Yukiya Sese Cuneta 사요한🦣<p>To all Filipinos, and foreigners planning to live in the Philippines for quite some time, a fair warning: avoid getting a Globe SIM.</p><p>Here's why: if ever you lost your phone (theft, etc.) Globe Telecom Inc. will not immediately block your old SIM for the following reasons:</p><p>1. The SIM is STILL RINGING.<br>2. You cannot PERFECTLY answer ALL THREE verification questions, which were designed to ensure you'll fail it.</p><p>I just went to a Globe store to go through the process because their online agents were heartless and very rude. While the agent in the Globe store was very helpful, and exhausted all possible options, it still was not enough to trigger the “immediate old SIM block” step.</p><p>This is after providing the following:<br>1. Affidavit of Loss.<br>2. 2 government issues IDs.<br>3. A selfie with me holding my government issued IDs.<br>4. Load amount prior to phone theft. (I even have a screenshot.)<br>5. Expiry date of the load prior to theft. (I even have a screenshot.)<br>6. That it is attached to a GCash account that is Tier-3 verified. (One GCash account per mobile number.)<br>7. I brought all the SIM beds I ever had for the same number. (I always kept the SIM bed whenever I get a new SIM issuance for the same number.)<br>8. Provided the numbers I often send SMS and the messages I sent to those numbers.</p><p>They also confirmed with me that whoever got my SIM, bought a Globe promo after it was stolen.</p><p>But, NO, absolutely nothing whatsoever can trigger the step: Block old SIM.</p><p>The only thing they did is escalate the case. However, it will take 3-5 business days to be processed.</p><p>They also informed me that it can be declined, too, even after proving my ownership of the SIM beyond any reasonable doubt.</p><p>So, yes, that's GLOBE TELECOM INC. for you.</p><p>AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!</p><p>Get a SMART or DITO SIM instead.</p><p>I don't even know what to do next if it gets declined. Probably go to NTC, which means, I have to go through a hundred processes again, spend money I don't have to get this and that, and still no guarantee.</p><p>All I can do right now is continue removing that number from my accounts. Banks are done, already filed requests.</p><p>I'm already very tired. Sorry, but I really have to say this: <a href="https://c.im/tags/GlobeSucks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GlobeSucks</span></a>.</p><p><a href="https://c.im/tags/Philippines" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Philippines</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/Pilipinas" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Pilipinas</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/Globe" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Globe</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/GlobeTelecom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GlobeTelecom</span></a> </p><p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fedigroups.social/@pilipinas" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>pilipinas</span></a></span> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/philippines" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>philippines</span></a></span></p>
