ChristopherI am using a Surface Go as a daily driver. I installed Linux @<span class="h-card"><a class="u-url mention" href="https://fosstodon.org/@fedora" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">fedora@fosstodon.org</a></span>&nbsp;&nbsp;on it.&nbsp;&nbsp;I want to embrace the touchscreen and the pen, but this machine is increasingly locking up. I<em> really</em> don't want to reinstall Windows on it. I have a hunch that 4gb of RAM isn't enough. I<em> really</em> don't want to buy yet another laptop. So, I'm thinking about an experiment. <br>I wonder if I could offload 90% of the applications I've installed and only use it as a writing tablet.&nbsp;&nbsp; Then, create a desktop in the<em> cloud</em>. Maybe I could install LXD on my @<span class="h-card"><a class="u-url mention" href="https://mastodon.social/@yunohost" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">yunohost@mastodon.social</a></span>&nbsp;&nbsp;server, and then install a distro with DE. Or maybe I could create a stationary workstation at home and install #<a class="hashtag" href="https://the.talesofmy.life/search?tag=RustDesk" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">RustDesk</a> and remote into it. <br>I like the idea of the cloud desktop on Yunohost because I could have my own desktop on any machine. <br>The caveat to that is that I may need a more powerful server. Which I would rather invest in the server over another workstation or new laptop. <br>#<a class="hashtag" href="https://the.talesofmy.life/search?tag=SurfaceGo" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">SurfaceGo</a> #<a class="hashtag" href="https://the.talesofmy.life/search?tag=SurfaceKernel" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">SurfaceKernel</a> #<a class="hashtag" href="https://the.talesofmy.life/search?tag=Yunohost" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Yunohost</a>
ChristopherWaydroid on Linux is so cool! I'm getting the best of Linux (Fedora) and a mobile OS (LineageOS) with F-Droid and Aurora Store via Waydroid. I'm running this on a Microsoft Surface Go 3. Pen support isn't perfect but isn't terrible either. <br><br><a class="" href="https://the.talesofmy.life/photos/christopher/image/93dc39b7-25c4-493a-a350-733304253c38" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"></a><br><br><br><br><br>@<span class="h-card"><a class="u-url mention" href="https://fosstodon.org/@fedora" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Fedora Project :fedora:</a></span> @<span class="h-card"><a class="u-url mention" href="https://fosstodon.org/@LineageOS" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">LineageOS</a></span> @<span class="h-card"><a class="u-url mention" href="https://floss.social/@fdroidorg" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">F-Droid</a></span> <br>#<a class="" href="https://the.talesofmy.life/search?tag=Fedora" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Fedora</a> #<a class="" href="https://the.talesofmy.life/search?tag=LineageOS" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">LineageOS</a> #<a class="" href="https://the.talesofmy.life/search?tag=FDroid" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">FDroid</a> #<a class="" href="https://the.talesofmy.life/search?tag=Surface" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Surface</a> #<a class="" href="https://the.talesofmy.life/search?tag=SurfaceKernel" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">SurfaceKernel</a> #<a class="" href="https://the.talesofmy.life/search?tag=AuroraStore" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">AuroraStore</a> #<a class="" href="https://the.talesofmy.life/search?tag=Waydroid" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Waydroid</a>
