Paul BuetowOne thing I miss in the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Zathura" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Zathura</a> PDF viewer is the ability to zoom in- and out with touch gestures on my touch screen. It works with Gnome's Evince, but the latter can't hide all the toolbars (not even in fullscreen) which is a bit annoying on small screens (e.g. Surface Go 2). xpdf doesn't seem to support touch screen gestures well at all. Any other recommendations, dear Fediverse? Paul BuetowAround twice yearly I use my "older" Microsoft Surface Go 2 (it runs <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Fedora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Fedora</a> Linux) as my travel device. It had run GNOME since I bought it. But yesterday, I tinkered a bit to strip everything down a bit. I am now on <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Sway" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Sway</a> and deleted GNOME. I usually don't use a tiling WM as I work mostly in tmux anyway (which itself is tiling), but the Sway setup makes the setup lighter. Will use most of the time fullscreen in sway anyway. Great experience so far. Even for PDF reading with <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/zathura" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#zathura</a>

For my needs, there was nothing that I could not do with Zathura; plus Zathura opens non-PDF files (comic book, djvu, ps) and printing is built-in and does not require manual tweaking in the config file.

FYI <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/WayBros" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#WayBros</a>, "It works great on Gnome/KDE" is not a good apologetic for something that has just gotten past the half-baked stage, and was written in a Linux-exclusive way. But I'm happy so far.)

In fact every time I open a pdf file with <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/zathura" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#zathura</a> from within emacs, my zathurarc gets completely ignored. This latter behaviour is probably linked with the cause of the first. I tried searching references for how the inferior <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/shell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#shell</a> works but nothing gave me a clue for what's going wrong...

Dane :debian: :openbsd:I recently discovered <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Zathura" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Zathura</a>, a PDF (and many other things) viewer.What an absolute marvel of a program.Just imagine that `less' ran as a GUI, and could open PDFs (and many other things).Immediately intuitive keybindings. Just amazing. :D
