Yonggan<p><span>Hey Fediverse, i need to switch away from Hyprland. It is getting worse every month and the maintainer is a transphobic asshole. Also i now have glitchy pixel artifacts everywhere. So i am currently checking the alternatives. But i have some questions:<br><br></span><b><span>What is currently the best alternative compositor to hyprland that has the most feature parity? I wan´t a config based one and don´t want to write code to configure my compositor. My config is not that complicated.</span></b><span><br><br></span><b><span>Also i use those hyprland related packages. Do you know any alternatives?</span></b><span><br>- hyprpicker<br>- hyprcursor <br>- hypridle<br>- hyprlock<br>- hyprshot<br><br>Thank you in advance!<br></span>:boost_animated:<span><br></span><a href="https://iceshrimp.de/tags/hyprland" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#hyprland</a><span> </span><a href="https://iceshrimp.de/tags/transphobic" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#transphobic</a><span> </span><a href="https://iceshrimp.de/tags/sway" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#sway</a><span> </span><a href="https://iceshrimp.de/tags/compositor" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#compositor</a><span> </span><a href="https://iceshrimp.de/tags/compositors" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#compositors</a><span> </span><a href="https://iceshrimp.de/tags/wayland" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#wayland</a><span> </span><a href="https://iceshrimp.de/tags/fedihelp" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#fedihelp</a></p>

It's way faster than X. Before now I thought DWM.exe on destop <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Windows</span></a> was as smooth as a compositing desktop window manager server could be, but it's not. <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Xwayland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Xwayland</span></a> will have major issues on <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Nvidia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Nvidia</span></a> until next week, though. Driver 555 should fix the flickering since it adds explicit sync support, but there could be more stuff to do.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/X11" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>X11</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/XOrg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>XOrg</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/KDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KDE</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/PlasmaDesktop" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PlasmaDesktop</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/compositors" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>compositors</span></a></p>
