Diego :mastodon:<p>Compartilhando uma função que tem se mostrado bem prática: "marcadores" (marks) e "ir para" (Go To), inspirada no Vim.</p><p>Contexto: o i3wm permite o uso de vários espaços de trabalho, numerados (1 a 10, por exemplo), o que ajuda a separar janelas de lazer daquelas de trabalho ou tarefa atual com outras em segundo plano, de consulta etc. E, mesmo que você use apenas um espaço de trabalho, é possível acumular muita coisa aberta em janelas empilhadas (stacking) ou em abas (tabbed). Com isso, pode acontecer de você esquecer em que lugar está determinada janela de app aberto ou apenas quer ter um acesso mais rápido e direto a ela, sem ter de passar por outras.</p><p>É aí que os marcadores se tornam uma mão na roda.</p><p>Como funciona: Você pressiona Super + m. Será exibida uma janela "Mark:", nesse momento digite uma letra, por exemplo: "o" de Obsidian; pode repetir os passos para outros apps. Agora, quando quiser ir direto à janela de um app específico, basta pressionar Super + g. Será exibida a janela "Goto:", então basta pressionar a letra do marcador criado, por exemplo o "o".</p><p>PS: Teclas de atalho podem variar, meu $mod é Super. An application that's integrated nicely with the rest of your system? Heck no! You get an app that sticks out like a sore thumb. Honestly, everything that happens <em>within</em> the application window is up to the devs, and I don't begrudge whatever style you use there. But taking over the titlebar I simply will not tolerate.</p><p>Honestly, if not for the CSDs, I'd never complain about Gnome. I'd use whatever (ethical) solution works best for my workflow and go about my day. But now using gnome apps feels like it's an advertisement for a cult-like mentality. I open Gnome Web, or Gnome Disks, Gnome Boxes, or whatnot, and boom, I'm lost. Where's my titlebar color? Gone. Which window is active? No blasted idea.</p><p>Sorry for the rant, I just really can't stand that. Other than that, I could say a lot of positive things about gnome. I'm glad they're there. But the mentality is feeling more cultish/corporate all the time.</p>

I was under the same impression, but read from people saying it works without problems. e.g. with <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/swaywm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>swaywm</span></a> <br>The tiling feature of <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/kde" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kde</span></a> has one major disadvantage....you can't save program locations. So basically you have to rearrange them every boot. Thats pointless, imo.</p>
samurro<p>Using a 42 inch 4k screen as desktop screen for testing...now I really need a <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/twm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>twm</span></a> on my home machine. ^^</p>
