Content warnings are overused on Mastodon to the point of insanity.
There, I said it.
We all agree stuff like porn and gore should be CW'd. But a lot of nudity is just fine. Racism, homo/transphobia? Don't demand CWs for that shit - these are the lived experiences of tons of people, and they should be able to tell their stories without the (usually white/straight) CW police breathing down their necks. CW on selfies? Wtf? On bugs? Really?
Look, everyone can CW whatever the fuck they want - but don't demand everyone else follows your puritanical rules.

@thomholwerda, we are trying to be nice to one another here. People are different, have different problems and different content may harm them in ways you couldn't imagine.
I'm not advocating for going around telling people to CW everything but I suppose at least some of them may appreciate a hint that specific content could harm others.
